Sunken deep, where shadows cling, In muck and mire, my spirit sinks. The weight of burdens, heavy things, Press down, and hope barely winks.
Despair paints landscapes bleak and gray, No path emerges, light seems lost. Whispers echo, “Just give way,” Faith a flicker, almost tossed.
But then, a memory, faint and small, A promise whispered on the breeze,A light unseen, yet piercing all, A love that sets the spirit free.
Above the darkness, vast and wide, A tapestry of stars unfurl,
And though the mud may stain and hide, A strength awakens, deep within the world.
For even in the depths unseen, Where shadows dance and doubt resides, A hand extends, a love serene, A gentle pull, where faith confides.
Step by step, with mud-caked feet, I rise, the mire begins to break. Each prayer a step, a rhythm sweet, Hope rekindled, for my spirit’s sake.
Above the muck, the air feels clean, With each ascent, the burden less. Faith’s gentle hand, its purpose keen, Guides me towards a brighterness.
And though the path may twist and turn, Through trials yet unknown to face, The lesson learned, forever burn, Faith’s light will never leave its place.
So when the darkness grips my soul, And mire threatens to devour, I’ll call on strength that makes me whole, And rise again, with newfound power.
For faith, a bridge across the chasm wide, From muck and mire to sunlit shore, A constant truth, a love that will abide,
Forevermore, forevermore.
